✨ Hello, Summer Break ✨
The last day of Pre-K3 was June 19th, and just like that—my little one is headed to Pre-K4 this fall. Time is flying! I can’t believe MJ will be 5. He already acts like a teenager—knows it all (or so he thinks).
Honestly, I’m grateful we enrolled in a month of summer camp. Because let’s be real: if we had to go back to 24/7 togetherness with no breaks, we’d probably drive each other a little crazy.
Still, it’s been an honor to be his mama. Truly. I’m thankful for this adventurous, loving, cranky, moody little human who chose me. This year has been so rewarding. His school gave us so many beautiful experiences—field trips, art days, friendships. He always wanted to bond with others, and this year, he really did. He learned, he laughed, and he asked a million questions a day.
Now we’re stepping into summer mode—which means nonstop snack requests, nap refusal, and “Can we go to the park?” on repeat. According to MJ, I can leave work whenever he needs to be entertained. He also thinks I have an endless money tree. (Don’t we all wish?)
I’m already considering making a summer goal or activities list for us to dive into after camp ends—because structure keeps us sane.
What does summer break look like for you?
For me, it’s juggling the never-ending roles:
Mom. Employee. Dog walker. Babysitter (yep, to my own kid). Personal bank account. Maid. Entertainer. Chef. Emotional support human.
The list goes on.
Sunshine, snacks, and sticky hugs,
DC
