Sunday Resets & Pokémon Dance Parties

A mom’s tender reflection on gratitude, toddler twirls, and God’s quiet reminders.

Some Sundays are quiet. Some are chaotic. And then there are Sundays like this one—messy, joy-filled, and full of unexpected grace.

This is what my Sundays have become: a mix of cleaning, toddler twirls, and sacred reset. Today, I’m reflecting on the little things that fill my cup in the most beautiful way.

On Sundays, I reset.

I clean the space around me—physically, mentally, spiritually. I dance through the house with my toddler, MJ, who never misses a beat.

Since he’s currently obsessed with Pokémon, I’m always assigned the role of Team Rocket (yes, the villain 😅), while he switches between being Ash and Pikachu. It’s pure, silly joy. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Today, I’m deeply grateful.

Grateful for the things we often take for granted.

For the laughter echoing through our home.

For a support system that holds me up.

For friends who have become family.

And especially for these fleeting moments with MJ—before he grows older and the living room dance parties come to an end.

I’m thankful that God woke me up this morning—because that alone is a gift. A fresh chance to be present. A new opportunity to give thanks.

🎵 Song of the Day:

More Than Able by Elevation Worship.

It was the reminder I didn’t know I needed today: God does the impossible—and He is more than able.

Closing Thought:

We don’t have to wait for big miracles to feel God’s presence. Sometimes it’s found in the rhythm of little feet, the warmth of sunlight on your face, and the way your heart expands when you pause to notice just how much you have.
