During Women’s Month, I’ve been taking time to reflect on the women in scripture and what their lives teach us about faith.

As I continue reading and learning, two women stood out to me—Elizabeth and Ruth.

Their stories are different, but both reveal what it looks like to trust God through uncertain seasons.

Elizabeth’s story, found in the Gospel of Luke, is one of waiting. She lived many years without having children, yet remained faithful. In a time when that kind of waiting could bring deep pain and disappointment, she continued to trust God.

When her prayer was finally answered, it was a reminder that God’s timing does not always match our expectations, but it is always purposeful.

Instead of responding with bitterness, Elizabeth responded with gratitude.

Ruth’s story shows a different kind of faith—loyalty and devotion.

After experiencing loss, Ruth chose to stay with Naomi, even when she could have returned to what was familiar. Her words, “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay,” reflect a deep commitment not only to Naomi but to God.

Ruth’s faith was not based on certainty. It was rooted in trust.

What stood out to me about both of these women is that their faith was not dependent on immediate results.

Elizabeth trusted God through a long season of waiting.

Ruth remained faithful even when the path ahead was unclear.

Both remind me that faith is not always about seeing things come together right away. Sometimes it’s about trusting God in the process—whether we are waiting, moving forward, or simply trying to understand what He is doing.

As I continue my journey through scripture, their stories remind me that faith can look different in different seasons, but it always requires trust.
